John Yuyi Created and Photographed Temporary Twitter Tattoos as Artwork

This artistic endeavor identifies people with temporary Twitter tattoos. Based in New York, artist John Yuyi (who previously created laptop selfie sticks) embarked on a photographic series that combines a childlike interest in non-permanent body modification with a millennial obsession with social media.

Viewable on Instagram (of course), the series display a number of models sporting fake tattoos inspired by Twitter as a platform as well as their personal information, such as handles, bios and individual tweets. This also speaks to young people receiving affirmation from their online social status and identifying with their number of followers, likes and similar interactions.

The Twitter tattoo art can currently be seen on exhibit at Bowery New York.
