Try-Before-You-Buy Christmas

$1 Fake Tree Trial

Can't stand the needles on your floor from a real Christmas tree, but are irked by the tackiness of evidently plastic boughs? The Christmas Tree Company, an online store selling over 52 varieties of faux holiday trees, is giving customers a 30 day trial for only $1.

"There are two key factors driving this unique event," the founder explained in a press release. "First, we're absolutely convinced that once you see an artificial tree like ours in your home, you'll fall in love with it, just like more than 4,500 of our customers did. Second, there are some people who still prefer to see a tree firsthand in a retail store. Since we sell trees on the Internet, we wanted to remove any risk those folks had, help them get over the hump and actually buy online."

So I'm assuming they're confident enough that you'll love the product and watch to purchase it. How much is shipping for one of these suckers, anyway? I wonder how many people will just celebrate Christmas early, opting for frugal festivities in the next four weeks to save the $623 the tree actually costs to buy.

Not for you? You can always try one of these USB mini Christmas trees instead:
