Controversial Ad Bans

Italian Tom Ford Sunglasses Ad

This ad for Tom Ford's sunglasses got banned in Italy by the Institute for Advertising Self-Discipline (IAP) which is the country's advertising watchdog. The ad shows a red-lipped, sunglass-wearing woman with a man's finger in her mouth.

Fabsugar says it was banned because the IAP deemed it vulgar and because the "scene evokes an offending and abusive act against women, which degrades the dignity of the person."

This image might indeed be offensive, but I have definitely seen much, much worse from Tom Ford before so this is kind of a surprise.
