The Weather Channel will now provide users with COVID-19 updates directly related to their area. In order to provide the COVID-19 information, The Weather Channel collaborated with IBM to import data from the WHO, as well also localized data to map how the virus spreads in a specific are.

The COVID-19 updates are viable through The Weather Channel's apps for Android or iOS devices, or on the organization's website. Additionally, the platform will also provide links to up to date news sources about the virus.

The general manager of The Weather Company, Cameron Clayton, spoke about the new features, "We feel it's critical to provide the most trusted information currently available to help people stay informed on the reach of COVID-19... so you can see why social distancing matters in your community and why it's important to heed instructions from your local, state and national resources."
