Candy-Inspired Dishware

The Polyfloss Factory Team Make Home Items Psychedelic

A troupe of artists titled The Polyfloss Factory Team have come up with a completely original art form that involves melting plastic into thousands of little strings. Inspired by the look of cotton candy, the group creates various items for the house.

Included in these items are vases, bowls, lampshades and textiles. The group uses tons of bright neon colors in its works, and every creation they come up with is made out of totally recycled plastics.

The troupe consists of Emile De Visscher, Chritophe Machet, Audrey Gaulard and Nick Paget. The team uses its own custom-made machine to produce all the pieces.

On Co.Design it states, "The machine works much like an ordinary cotton candy maker: A heater melts plastic chips while the drum spins and extrudes the substance through tiny holes by centrifugal force."

These items put a bright and cheery spin on ordinary household items.
