Hat-Shaped Decorative Baskets

The ‘Tete de Bois’ Baskets are Both Decorative and Functional

Venetien designer Andrea Deppieri created the ‘Tete de Bois’ basket and center-piece collection inspired by the the Tete de Bois wooden headwear concept from Newton & Son.

The baskets are made using dark mahogany and light tanganika woods obtained from sustainable, regenerating forests. Other materials such as iron, wood and flexible lightweight rubber are also incorporated into the structure.

All the baskets are handmade in Italy and vary in shape depending on how they are used. The baskets can be placed on the table to hold magazines and other coffee table objects, but can also be placed on the ground as decorative or storage pieces.

The Tete de Bois basket & centerpiece collection will be presented during the 2014 Milan Design Week and will be displayed at the Bagatti Valsecchi museum in Milan.
