Liquid-Repelling Surface Protectors

TECNADIS Water-Proof Coating Keeps Surfaces Dry

TECNAN, a Spanish company, has come up with the TECNADIS waterproof coating to keep building surfaces nice and dry during drizzly weather. The nanoparticle-based coating (what these particles are exactly, however, is a trade secret) is hydrophobic and repels any liquid that touches the surface when it is applied to a material.

This prevents concrete, ceramic, wood, stone or brick that aris exposed to the elements from being damaged by water or oil. It would be particularly useful for coating one's back deck or patio furniture so that it can stay outside all summer long without being warped or ruined from any heavy downpour or accidental spills.

The coating glazes over the surface without changing the color or look of the object and is said to be effective for up to 10 years.
