Tea Candles as Pixels

Moving Art by Phil Hansen

Candles are one of the oldest forms of interior decoration, having been used not only as a light source for centuries, but to set a mood. They continue to be focal pieces on their own or to enhance art, but this piece takes an uber modern approach by turning tealights into an image which looks like computer pixels.

The flickering tea light candles were arranged in this smoking hot piece of illuminated, moving art by Phil Hansen. Using four different screens organized in a rectangle, Hansen lights the candles to create an image of what look like an image made of pixels. The music he chose to accompany his work completes the project!
