Mumbai's Tata Tower Combines Living Spaces and Vertical Parking

The Tata Tower combines 930 residences and parking for 4,050 cars; it even generates its own power. Designed by Seth Ellsworth and Jayoung Kim, the Tata Tower addresses Mumbai’s overcrowding head-on by providing residences for Tata employees as well as off-street parking for their Tata cars.

Solar power-collecting louvers, an algae farm, and wind turbines will provide enough power to fuel the tower’s residences and to recharge its parked cars. The ambitious Tata Tower project is designed to inspire others to consider vertical parking structures in India and the rest of the world.
