A french man, Philippe Scott will be the first man to receive Surgery in zero gravity in an experiment that will help set the stage for surgery in space. Specifically, doctors will remove a cyst from the man in a three hour operation aboard an airbuss A300 designed to fly like a roller coaster. The experiment is being performed by the French National Centre for Space Studies. The goal is to develop robotic techniques for surgeries in space. The surgeons will strap themselves to a wall for the duration of the three-hour operation, and make roughly 30 parabolas dives.
