Gigantic Military Mask Sculptures

Subodh Gupta Crafts Protective Gear Using Old Pots & Pans

Subodh Gupta is world famous for his enormous sculptures made from old kitchenware, and he’s wowing audiences once more with his latest offerings. Seen here are images of sculptures that use old pots and pans to replicate protective equipment you’d expect to see on military personnel. Curiously, Gupta fashioned helmets, ski masks and gas masks out of cooking equipment while molding realistic-looking faces out of melted metals. I don’t question his decision however as the results are simply jaw-dropping.

Subodh Gupta is currently based in New Delhi. Many will be surprised to learn Gupta began as a painter before branching out into other media. A Jack-of-all-trades, Gupta creates sculptures, paintings, installations, photos, performance pieces and videos all equally well.
