Joanna Laajisto Designs This Table for Nikari Out of 100-Year-Old Wood

This sturdy minimalist table exudes a quiet elegance that lends itself effortlessly to different interior settings. While its chonky legs definitely drive the eye to the furniture silhouette, there is something even more impressive about the design which was created by architect and designer Joanna Laajisto for the contemporary Finnish brand Nikari. Named the Centenniale Coffee Table, this piece was made using 100-year-old wood.

Joanna Laajisto "embraced the cracks and imperfections of the old timber" for their aesthetic appeal but this certainly does not affect the functional performance of the sturdy minimalist coffee table. The designer used a single piece of wood to bring the shape to life. The coffee table is available for purchase in a range of sizes.

The Centenniale Coffee Table made its debut to the public during Milan Design Week 2023.
