The pieces range from a fruit salad rubik's cube to a carrot lipstick. Intrigued by the resemblance of fruits and vegetables in relation to human organs, Illenberger includes a cauliflower brain in her collection as well, coinciding with her earlier work of Heilpflanzen. It is interesting how effortless the vegetable reminds one of the brain anatomy.
Sarah Illenberger's creative art work is humorous as well as it is mildly unsettling. The apple made out of hair is one of the unsettling pieces for the fact that one immediately tries to associate the shape with the functionality.
