A Spotify Lite Version Will Roll Out to Android Users in 36 Countries

A new Spotify Lite version will be rolling out to 36 countries around the world, however, it will only be available to Android users. The new app is intended for devices with lower power or alternatively areas with a bad connection.

The app is only 10 MB and auto set to stream music with the basic settings. Spotify has indicated that the app runs at aproximantly 0.5MB per song. The company has indicated that the Spotify Lite version was created due to user feedback. Users will have to be able to run Android 4.3 or later versions in order to run the app.

Spotify Lite also enables users to cap data being used, where users will be notified if they go over a preset data limit.
