'Porífera' from Margarida Pereira Offers 10 Unique Designs

The Copenhagen-based design studio TABLEAU has released a sponge-inspired vase collection made by artist Margarida Pereira. The line has been dubbed 'PORÍFERA' and drew its inspiration from images and motifs representing the beginning of life. Expanding on that sentiment, the artist stated that "It is believed the first animals on earth were poriferous. Their shapes are vase or cylinder-like, asymmetrical or radially symmetrical."

This collection features 10 different items that are perfect for using as a stand alone centre piece, or for putting flowers in. The gorgeous designs are sure to make a statement among guests, as they boast incredibly unique silhouettes that appear to have a soft, sponge-like texture.
