Sony's Flexible Full-Color OLED

This week Sony revealed a flexible full-color organic electroluminescent display (OLED). The display, which weight 1.5 grams, is built using organic TFT technology. It's 0.3 mm thin and features resolution of 120x160 pixels.

Pink Tentacle informs, "According to Sony, which plans to release a new line of miniature TVs this year and is bolstering efforts to develop next-generation flat-panel OLEDs, this new technology will lead to the development of thinner, lighter and softer electronics."

This will match nicely with the razor thin OLED TV Sony revealed earlier this year. We also saw a transparent OLED display long ago, but it is nice to see continued development in this area.
