Síofra Caherty Turns Waste Materials into Special Bag Designs

Jump the Hedges is an award-winning sustainable design studio and was founded by Síofra Caherty. Now she highlights a material and wastes initiative to product design to ensure that all of the waste is used to create long-lasting purposes. The bags are made from used airplane seat parts, waste leather, and reclaimed truck tarpaulin.

These are used to turn into bags and the workshop highlights sustainability alongside schools and communities for a collective effort. Speaking about finding the studio, Síofra Caherty states that "It was while I was at adidas that I saw an opportunity to combine fashion and sustainability. Up until that point, I had felt that my love for fashion and the environment was conflicting. I decided to leave adidas, move back home, and set up my own business with sustainability at its core."
