Elevated Bike Lanes

SkyCycle by Exterior Architecture is a Path Exclusively for Cyclists

SkyCycle by Exterior Architecture is a unique transportation proposal targeting cyclists. It is essentially an elevated bike lane that would provide a safe path for riders while also alleviating traffic congestion on roads and sidewalks. Although it might not seem like bikers take up a lot of space, they can. Especially if a city is trying to encourage more cyclists, which this addition will surely do.

Providing a cheaper and greener alternative to other public transporation, SkyCycle by Exterior Architecture is hoping to be built in the city of London. According to the British design firm, SkyCycle would promote "a cycling utopia, with no buses, no cars and no stress." Of course, using the private cycle lane would come at a small cost of around one pound. The firm is currently in talks with London mayor Boris Johnson.
