Panasonic Automotive Updated its SkipGen Drive System with Assistants

Panasonic Automotive unveiled a number of updates to its SkipGen in-vehicle infotainment system at CES 2023. The drive system was originally showcased by the company in early 2021 as an augmented reality drive system that overlays critical information to the lower part of the driver's windshield. This service offers navigational assistance including destination, duration, current speed, and other important trip-related information.

Now, in 2023, Panasonic Automotive announced key updates for the service including Alexa and apple CarPlay support, making this the first in-vehicle infotainment system to support a wake word such as "Hey Siri" or "Alexa." This offers seamless access to the smart assistants to the driver without them needing to take their hands, or eyes, off the wheel.
