Organic Ocean Waste Stools

The 'Zostera' Sitting Stool is Made from Eelgrass and Bio-Resin

The natural world is full of useful materials that can be used with a little ingenuity to create very useful items as seen with the 'Zostera' sitting stool that makes use of organic ocean waste.

Designed by Carolin Pertsch, the 'Zostera' stool features a top portion that has been crafted using eelgrass that has been gathered from the beaches of the North Sea in Germany. The eelgrass if blended with bio-resin in order to create a fiber-reinforced plastic that is lightweight, durable and inherently natural. It also works to use something that would otherwise be considered waste to create a useful accessory for the home.

The 'Zostera' sitting stool identifies how home decor can be made far more eco-friendly by simply looking to the natural world for unlikely materials to be used.
