These Single Malts Commemorate the Year Of the Tiger

Bruichladdich Distillery, a maker of fine whiskeys located in the Scottish isles, has launched a new collection of single malt whiskeys that aim to celebrate Chinese New Year.

These include the Octomore 12 series whiskeys, which feature three unique products. These include the 12.1 version which was aged in oak casks for half a decade, the 12.2 variant which passed through oak casks as well as Sauternes wines casks, and the 12.3 whiskey that also passed through Pedro Ximenez solera casks and is the most expensive version of the trio at $270.

The new single malt whiskey offerings also include the unpeated Bruichladdich Black Art 09.1, which is available for a price of $720. Head distiller Adam Hannett said that in the making of Bruichladdich Black Art 09.1, the whiskey would "rest in some of the finest casks, sometimes just a few weeks, adding a delicate layer of fruit before we moved the whisky on again."
