Whimsically Flexible Offices

Simon Bush-King has Designed a Relaxed Contemporary Workspace

Dutch design studio Simon Bush-King Architecture designed an office space for digital agency Superheroes in Amsterdam's De Pijp neighborhood.

The architects situated all three meeting rooms in the corners of the office, leaving room for more flexible, in-between work spaces throughout. The partition walls and most of the office furniture was made from CNC-cut orientated strand board (OSB). Moreover, all of the furniture was assembled using pine dowels, meaning that they can be easily dismantled and used to build something else, "should the office move in a few years."

The open-concept studio was filled with hanging plans, custom wooden furniture and a unique mural of a llama and an ice cream cone. The mural, which is by TelmoMiel at Shop Around, sits beneath a glass ceiling in the primary studio space. Bush-King explains,"The mural and lama is largely a spot of whimsy with the caped superhero clinging on for dear life to the ice cream cone."
