Shark Killer Dies

Inspiration for movies is hard to pin down, but none was more iconic than the crusty Captain Quint in Jaws. Frank Mundus, who inspired Captain Quint in the movie Jaws, and was a legendary shark hunter has died. Frank Mundus was called the "Monster Man" because of the size of sharks he caught. No doubt none of the creatures of the deep shown here would have not caused him alarm. Frank Mundus started hunting sharks in 1951. Mundus once harpooned a 4,500 shark and landed it.
