Hearing-Impaired GPS

The Seek Deaf Informational Navigational System Helps Achieve Independence

The Seek Deaf Informational Navigational System helps the hearing-impaired to be more independent as they go about their daily routine or explore new cities. Similar to the Xun Ye's Origin GPS that helps provide direction to the visually-impaired, this device allows handicapped individuals to lead as normal a life as they can.

Designed by Cleveland Institute of Art graduate Jesse Hill, the Seek Deaf Informational Navigational System is comprised of three basic components. The stationary Pinpoint device records and keeps track of where the user has been and helps share that information with others in the Seek community, the Nate helps locate businesses and stores in particular areas and the Compass is the portable version of the Pinpoint.
