Schweid & Sons Taps Tyson Foods for the New Climate-Friendly Beef

Schweid & Sons is collaborating with Tyson Foods for the new 'Brazen Climate Friendly Ground Beef Burger,' the first USDA-approved climate-friendly beef. The 'Brazen' line is a selection of all-natural and minimally processed beef sourced from grass-fed cows. The new lineup was created to appeal to eco-conscious consumers who are looking for more impactful ways to support responsible meat production methods.

Tyson Foods operated in alignment with the Climate-Smart Beef Program framework, which "models greenhouse gas emissions for cattle from pasture to production, focusing on emission sources from feed cultivation and processing, cow/calf ranches, stocker operations, and feedlots. To model these emissions, data – for example, farm management data and operational information – is collected and verified through third-party auditors such as Where Food Comes From, Inc.," said Chad Martin, vice president of cattle procurement at Tyson Foods.
