In-Tray-Incised Tables

The Scallop Collection Comprises Surfaces with Transitional Recesses

In the designer's study of the way that people use tables, it was discovered that there are items that are constantly coming and going and others that maintain more permanent positions. The Scallop Collection for Versus accommodates the placement of both types of possessions by subtly designating different areas on the surface of each furnishing.

On the smooth tops of both the side table and the coffee table, Samuel Wilkinson has sculpted a very shallow, flat-bottomed and loosely rectangular basin. These curved-edged geometric depressions function as trays to contain items like keys, coins and spectacles that often find themselves sliding onto the floor. The more expansive areas that the lovely minimalist Scallop Collection pieces provide are perfect for vases and books, newspapers or nothing at all.
