Samsung's Bot Handy Can Pour a Glass of Wine

Samsung's Bot Handy was announced at CES 2021, presenting consumers with insight into what the future of household robots could look like. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an increased need for service robots, as they provide a contactless solution to many consumer needs. From hotel concierges to food deliveries, automated bots have provided a valuable and often-efficient service.

Handy Bot aims to provide the same type of service, but in one's home. According to Sebastian Seung, president of Samsung Research, the bot serves as "an extension of you in the kitchen, living room, and anywhere else you may need an extra hand in your home". As a result, Bot Handy is expected to be able to preform tasks like folding laundry, and can even pour a glass of wine.
