Australia's Gilded Birthday Gift to the Queen of England

The Queen of England is getting some new wheels for her 80th birthday, courtesy of Australia. Her brand new carriage is only the second one for the royal family, and its bling beats the original carriage by a long shot.

The personalized high rider is called the Britannia and is thought to cost about $1.5 million. It’s anticipated that this will be the carriage that Prince William and Prince Harry will ride in when they marry.

Photos are scarce, but a BBC special will show the Britannia’s move from Australia, where it was made, to England. We do know, however, that the door handles were made by a jeweler and include 24 diamonds and 130 sapphires.
