Modern Rice Packaging

T-Square's Rice Bag Design for Nanatsuboshi Mixes Tradition with Graphics

This rice bag design takes an ancient food into modern territory. Where as most bulk rice packaging tends to be fairly unremarkable, this design created and conceived by Tokyo, Japan-based T-Square Design Associates makes the simple food item look more appealing than ever before.

The Venn Diagram-like graphic combines warm colors red, orange and yellow in a visually pleasing and geometric form. Designed for Nanatsuboshi, the rice bag also incorporates traditional elements such as calligraphy, and rice field imagery.

In an effort to showcase Nanatsuboshi's brand values of passion combined with meticulous discipline, the graphic represents the brand's crossbreeding to develop their product. The clean lines and flat iconography keeps true to Japanese culture while also being unique.
