Matt Brown's Rfid Radios Brings Flat-Pack Fun to Internet Radio

Radio-frequency identification has definitely found its legs in the industrial design community by the looks of these RFID radios. Colorful, playful and user-friendly, these RFID radios bring a little bit of fun to Internet radio in an efficient and eco-friendly way.

Designed by Matt Brown, the RFID radios idea was born while he was studying interaction design at the Umea Institute of Design in Sweden. Basically, a RFID chip is placed within each laser-cut, flat-pack design. These chips are programmed to hold the music of a particular artist or musician. When placed over a speaker that is also equipped with a RFID reader, the music of that artist is played.

Therefore the RFID radios allows people to strike up a stronger connection to these musicians.
