Repurposed Cotton Sweater Initiatives

Cos' Repurposed Cotton Project is Stylish and Eco-Friendly

In an effort to showcase a more sustainable business model, clothing retailer COS launched the Repurposed Cotton Project -- an initiative which brings new life to the used material.

To execute this eco-friendly capsule, the brand selected year-old cotton from a supply partner that's based in Turkey. After receiving the cotton, the brand had to shred, compact, comb, spin, weave, dye and re-construct the material. As an end result, COS created a capsule full of 100-percent cotton sweatshirts. Arriving in classic colorways like cream and yellow, this line is sure to serve as a stylish solution to the wasteful nature of fast fashion.

According to the brand, the goal of this project was to "find innovative solutions to utilize the full extent of the fabric."
