Matter's Poppies are Made from Coffee Cup Waste & Wood Fibers

Poppies with a paper leaf and petals held in place by a plastic stem are being replaced with plastic-free, recyclable remembrance poppies thanks to a fresh and forward-thinking design by Matter. These new poppies reimagine the Royal British Legion remembrance poppy with a design that's entirely made from coffee cup waste and recycled wood fibers. This design remains as recognizable as ever but much more earth-friendly since it can be properly disposed of in household recycling collections.

This design has the capacity to be made on an assembly line without the need for adhesives, and according to the design consultancy, this new paper poppy will help to reduce carbon emissions by 40% compared to the previous design.
