‘Prophets and Penitents' Exhibit Reveres Passion for Chair Design

Sometimes a chair is just a chair. Other times, a chair is a style statement or reflection of the creator’s imagination at a certain point in time. Twenty designers and artists were invited to the Oratorio della Passione at Sant’Ambrogio in Milan to confess their designs for ‘Prophets and Penitents.’

The chair in the gallery above is penitence for waste. Rianne Makkink & Jurgen Bey of studio Makkink & Bey will present their pixelated chairs at ‘Prophets and Penitents.’ Scraps of wood and material were stapled together haphazardly, lacking any color and looking much like a pixelated photo.
