Egg-Shaped Drones

The PowerEgg Drone Encases Sensitive Electronics Inside An Egg-Shaped Shell

The PowerEgg is an innovative flying drone, designed by Beijing, China-based Powervision Robot, that protectively folds up all the regular quadcopter electronics into a large and smooth egg-shaped package.

When switched off, the PowerEgg drone folds into its egg-like shape. When ready for flying, the sides split open and unfold to reveal the landing gear and rotor arms. The bottom of the PowerEgg opens to unveil a 360-degree 4K HD camera that sits on a three-axis gimbal.

While there are lots of drones out there that are portable, they're designed in such a way that their electronics, rotors and other elements are exposed, making them liable for getting tangled up in trees, cables and elsewhere. The PowerEgg gets around this problem by casing the elements safely.
