Car-Inspired Letters

The Porsche 911 Carrera Shows an Unexpected Alphabet

Letters just got a little more interesting as Avis uses car parts of the Porsche 911 Carrera to spell out the alphabet.

Car rental Avis launched its promotion of the Porsche 911 Carrera rental and tackled the market with letters made from details of the fancy car. Avis created a microsite where fans used the letters to send out their emotions that took form of an E-Card. The online promotion included three million fans on Facebook along with Twitter and other car blogs.

This is an example of interactive advertising where fans can be included in what they look up to. Not only is Avis promoting the product, it uses people as a marketing tool to pump up the hype about its launch. This project is an example of successful marketing that enables fans to participate.
