I have always liked the design of paper plates. What I do not like is the fact that they get soggy and collapse if you so much as place more than a pea on them.
So when I found this Porcelain Paper Plates by Virginia Sin, I was most excited. Granted it is not the most creative idea in the world (has been done with plastic cups for example) but there is something I like about these. At least they still manage to look really tatty even though they are made from porcelain.
To get this look, actual paper plates were used, then shredded after serving as molds for the plates (see cabbage light trend below for a similar approach). They are also very expensive sadly, with the large one costing $85.
