Dream-Inspired Porcelain Masks

Johnson Tsang's 'Lucid Dream' Project is Both Eerie and Surreal

Johnson Tsang, an artist who's based in Hong Kong has a talent for creating work that transcends beyond any semblance of reality -- something that's especially seen in the porcelain masks from his 'Lucid Dream' project.

Many different pieces comprise the collection, with each playing with proportions, texture and symbolism is a diverse way. Although most of the porcelain masks make use of the ivory material in its entirety, pieces like 'Ethereal Beauty,' 'Caged' and 'Quarantine' infuse different elements onto the masks.

This works to represent a different state of mind or being -- with the physical barriers shown extending from the brains on the masks of Caged and Quarantine symbolizing a sense of being trapped.
