Automated Pizza Partnerships

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop announced a new pilot test for Piestro's 'Piestro Pod' automated all-in-one pizza solution. The Piestro Pod is a compact pizzeria that is capable of performing all of the basic functionalities of a pizza restaurant, all without staff. The Piestro Pod can prepare fresh pizzas with certain selections of ingredients, cook these pizzas, cut the cooked pizzas into slices, and serve them to customers, all without requiring employees. This removes both person-to-person contact while reducing labor costs.

As part of the pilot test, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop will begin with a few Piestro Pods at a few locations, with the upward intention of purchasing 100 Piestro Pods if the device performs well in testing. The company believes this will increase frontend sales without increasing labor costs, while also alleviating the strain of busy rush hours, such as lunch or dinner prime times.
