Flower Street BioReactor by ‘Emergent' for Alternative Fuel Aware

For the Department of Cultural Affairs, design architects ‘Emergent’ have created this photosynthetic wall to raise awareness for alternative fuels. The Flower Street BioReactor is a wall filled with algae that produces oil due to photosynthesis. It’s full of LED lights that maintain the appropriate algae conditions.

Emergent has said of the Flower Street BioReactor that, "Our primary goal was to create a sense of delight and exotic beauty around new technologies by decontextualizing them and amplifying their potential atmospheric and spatial effects."

Quite the aesthetic fuel awareness project!
