Touch-Sensitive Photo Booths

Kissing Booth Meets Photo Booth in This Fun Creation

Talia Radford of taliaYstudio and digital designer Jonas Bohatsch have collaborated in order to create the ‘Thermobooth.’ Part kissing booth, part photo booth, this high-tech hybrid detects when visitors kiss and snaps a shot. Users stand on a ‘smart carpet’ attached to a circuit board; if they make contact by touching or kissing, the camera is triggered. The flash comes from a set of circular, soft-illuminating OLED lights that "emit light from a surface rather than a point."

The photo is then printed out with a thermal printer. Explaining the decision to stick with the thermal printing, Radford says, "thermal printing is quick and dirty in its look and it holds some of the nostalgia of instant analogue photography." Debuting at the Vienna Design Week, the Thermobooth would make a cute outing for you next date night and leaves you with an adorable old-school souvenir.
