The Perpetual Energy Wasting Machine isn't necessarily what people might imagine at first. A rather ambiguous name for such a specific function, despite what many people will creatively come up with, it involves a system of ropes and pulleys to make an elevator move in an infinite loop between two floors.
Controlled by a button on the second floor, the Perpetual Energy Wasting Machine forces the doors to close on the first floor and the elevator to rise up to meet it. From there the elevator immediately goes back to the first floor for the simple process to begin again.
Created by Niklas Roy, the Perpetual Energy Wasting Machine is installed in the staircase of the WRO Art Center in Wroclaw, Poland.
