Tampon-Shooting Gaming

Tampon Run is a Period Video Game Aiming to Normalize Menstruation

In an effort to illustrate periods are perfectly normal, two teenagers developed a period video game where you get to shoot feminine hygiene products at opponents. The objective of Tampon Run is to collect tampons and shoot them at your enemies without running out before the moon cycle comes to an end. Creators Andrea Gonzales and Sophie Houser intend to normalize tampons in video games rather than traditional weaponry (like guns).

They believe it is unacceptable that menstruation is a taboo subject, noting that although the idea behind the period video game is very unusual "it’s stranger that our society has accepted and normalized guns and violence through video games, yet we still find tampons and menstruation unspeakable."

The 8-bit styled game can be played online.
