Created by Pela co-founder Jeremy Long, this environmental phone case utilizes a proprietary material called Flaxstic. This material is key to the eco-friendly nature of the Pela case and is a combination of flax straw waste and biopolymers. This combination not only gives the case its eco-friendly properties but also provides to the distinct appearance of the case.
The construction of the Pela case is also done in an eco-friendly way as the creation of Flaxstic requires 50% less non-renewable energy and produces 60% fewer greenhouse gases when compared to traditional plastic polymers.
