Heads-Down Cycling Displays

The Pedi-Scope is Like a Periscope For Your Bicycle

The Pedi-Scope is a heads-down display for cyclists that takes advantage of the fact that tilting your head down can relieve neck pain, whilst also allowing you to see where you're going. The device is essentially a handlebar-mounted periscope that provides a view of the road ahead. This allows cyclists with neck pain to place their neck in a neutral, downward position without losing their orientation.

Designed by Brooklyn-based Mike Lane, the Pedi-Scope currently features a trio of side-by-side prisms, although the final production model is expected to use a single wide prism.

The device is suggested for use on both long-distance road rides as well as urban riding, although it appears to be most useful for highway riding, where obstacles are few and far between.
