Pedal Powered Submarines

The UV from MIT is for Aspiring Captain Nemos

If you have ever dreamed of going 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea but don’t have the time to learn all the complicated controls of a submarine then this pedal powered submarine is right up your alley. The UV from MIT (Marine Innovation Technologies) is designed to turn anybody into an undersea explorer.

The UV can dive up to 30m (98ft) and can reach speeds of 2-5 knots on the surface and 2-3 knots underwater. The pedal powered submarine is mostly windows which is good because you wouldn’t want to miss the view under da sea.

If you don’t think you have the calves for a pedal powered submarine there is also the option for electric power. This submarine is going to retail for about $70,000 so it’s not for the masses…yet.
