Disproportionate Self-Portraits

Paul Armstrong Depicts Himself in an Everyday Wonderland

Paul Armstrong is the photographer that captures and models these Alice in Wonderland-like self portraits. He tries to depict everyday scenarios such as reading a book, waiting in the laundry mat and walking towards his car, with him being outrageously out of proportion with his surroundings.

He is gigantic in some scenes and tiny in others. His size continually changes in every photograph as if he keeps taking sips and bites out of obscure objects that tell him to do so.

He explains his mindset behind creating this unusual work on his site as follows: "I felt out of step and out of place. Big and small. Extreme. So I tried doing these photos of me being small and helpless and everything over-sized, as well as me very big and not fitting in with my surroundings"
