View-Promising Park Benches

The 'Sky Seats' are Floating Pieces of Art That Guarantee Lush Scenery

As part of an annual art festival 'Rokko Meets Art 2013,' Japanese environmental artist Hidemi Nishida has constructed five white park benches on top of a hill in Mount Rokko, Japan, that seem to elevated from the ground for an environmental art installation project.

Each 'sky seat' has a flight of stairs for visitors to reach the seat. The intention being that, once viewers sit down on the elevated plain, they are able to relax, enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings, be at one with nature, and more importantly, makes us stop and think about the significance of nature and how we should treasure and appreciate it. The sofas are thoughtfully placed and angled; as you sit down you will be able to see an unobstructed view of the shrubbery along with the exhilarating feeling of feeling like you're literally sitting in the sky.
