Phoenix Paper Sculptures

Paper Rebirth by Zim&Zou; Gives Recycled Papers New Life

The idea of recycling is no longer a novel idea to most parts of the world, even if some don't participate in the environmentally conscious practice, yet encouragement is still needed, especially in the form of exciting visualizations; enter Paper Rebirth by Zim&Zou, a creative studio made up of French duo Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmermann. It is a striking paper sculpture of a phoenix that represents the new life given to old paper.

Commissioned by French NGO Ecofolio and ad agency June21, Paper Rebirth by Zim&Zou was created with paper collected from passersby during the first stage of the ad campaign. The second stage involved the studio creating the phoenix. They reveal, "We thought that the Phoenix was a perfect mythological animal to symbolize that paper can have up to 5 lives thanks to recycling."
