Students from the Palestine Polytechnic University Built a Solar Car

Students from The Palestine Polytechnic University have built Palestine’s first solar-powered car called 'TMT.' The single-seater car runs fully on solar energy and features a golf cart-like vehicle with 12 batteries which power the car for up three to five hours.

The vehicle was developed as part of a graduation project. TMT uses hundreds of photovoltaic solar cells to gather sun energy through which the batteries powers the vehicle for more than 100 minutes. With a maximum speed of 30 kilometers per hour, the TMT can also be recharged by using electricity during winter.
