This Pacman Packaging Concept Was Made to Be Playful and Interactive

While consumers continue to get seduced into the world of all things hi-tech, this Pacman packaging demonstrates an interesting dynamic within the realm of design. Although this project is technically considered print media, it references a retro video game and it strives to foster an interactive experience.

Craig Sutton's paper box comprises a sleeve and four folding trays that slip inside of it. The outer casing is yellow and missing a triangular cutout on each side, giving it the resemblance of a rectilinear Pacman profile. The trays inside have been drawn up with blue grids to reference the labyrinth in the computer game. The contents of Pacman packaging can be arranged within each maze, and played with the cards in the included brochure.
